Stormwater Regulations require both quantity & quality control measures.
This is true, but merely adding the two together will only add cost to your development. One of the great challenges today in land development and site construction is how to handle post-construction stormwater runoff in a cost-effective way. When it rains, impervious surfaces from buildings and pavement create massive amounts of stormwater runoff in very short time. If not handled appropriately, the quantity and velocity of this runoff can erode and destroy habitat and ecosystems of our waterways and create flooding conditions downstream. This runoff can also pick up and carry with it pollutants that are deposited from automobiles, fertilizer, and waste. The EPA has enacted regulations on development through the Clean Water Act in an effort to preserve and protect our waterways and infrastructure from being polluted and/or destroyed from upstream runoff conditions.
Site Supply has carefully selected several industry leading Green Infrastructure products and BMP’s that control stormwater runoff volumes, velocities, and pollution. Our Green Infrastructure BMP’s are designed and incorporated into developments for the purpose of reducing stormwater velocities and managing peak flows, reducing stormwater volume through infiltration, or for removing pollutants through hydrodynamic, physical filtration, or biological processes. Site Supply will work with your drainage engineer to offer careful design assistance and cost evaluations of our BMP’s for any given project. And, once our Green Infrastructure BMP’s are installed, we will assist the owner of the development to appropriately maintain the BMP for the life of the system.
