ENVIROGRID SYSTEM PROTECTS AUXILARY ASH POND AT E.W. BROWN POWER PLANT

Auxilary ash ponds at power plants can cover many acres. Even though these ponds do not have turblent flow entering or existing, they are still very susceptible to forces of water around the inside perimeter. You may think that with a normal pool elevation that is very consistent and calm, you should not have this problem. But, these ponds are large enough that wind can create wave action that eventually destroys the containment berm. For this purpose, at the E.W. Brown Power Plant, Site Supply provided over 100,000 square feet of Envirogrid’s cellular confinement system to protect the perimeter of their newly constructed auxilary pond.
