Envirogrid®
Cellular Confinement System
Envirogrid® is a HDPE three dimensional cellular confinement system. Developed for and used extensively by the military it has found wide and successful use throughout the construction industry.
Retaining Wall
This ODOT construction project utilized Envirogrid for its retaining application. The cells hold the soil in place, and also provide drainage throughout the structure. This geocell gravity wall utilized onsite and granular fill. Additionally, the outer cells were vegetated to give the wall an environmentally pleasing look.
Wall Construction
Workers use a field constructed wooden frame to stretch the Envirogrid sections to the proper size. Adjacent sections are stapled together and infilled with granular materials. The infill is compacted and another section can then be placed on top. The process is easy, fast and economical.
